Clondalkin Dublin Bus Route Proposals

Clondalkin Dublin Bus Network Review

Dublin Bus has published its proposed Network review for the Clondalkin area. The first phase of the consultation process is underway and residents will be able to make submissions to the company until the 23rd of January next. Details of the proposed changes can view viewed online at bit.ly/Gogarty51 .

Customers making submissions or for queries can contact Dublin Bus Head Office, 59 Upper O’Connell Street, Dublin 1. Tel: 01-8734222 . E-mail: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) .

The key proposals are as follows:

Dublin Bus plans to amalgamate Route 51b/c (Bawnogue) and the 13/a (Ballymun) to operate as a new Route 13. The company says this will provide a high frequency cross city connection between Ballymun and Clondalkin via Balbutcher Lane, DCU, Drumcondra, O’Connell Street, Dame Street, St. James’s Hospital, Inchicore, Naas Road, Clondalkin Village and Bawnogue.

Route 76 will now operate from Tallaght Square to Blanchardstown Centre via Neilstown, Liffey Valley, N4 and M50

Route 68 & 69 to and from Newcastle and Rathcoole are proposed to terminate at the Red Cow Luas Station
- Route 68 is planned to operate from Newcastle via Cherrywood, Clondalkin Village and Watery Lane;
- Route 69 is planned to operate from Rathcoole via St John’s Wood, Clondalkin Village and Monastery Road

Please go onto the Dublin Bus web page via bit.ly/Gogarty51 to see the changes. Make your views known as some proposals will be controversial. Route 151 now goes from Foxborough, Lucan as part of that review, passing through Clondalkin at Bawnogue and then Nangor Road via the city centre to the docklands at East Wall.

Some North Clondalkin changes already announced as part of an earlier consultation process (view these online via bit.ly/Gogarty49):

The company has already announced plans to scrap the 51 (Neilstown to city centre, Mon-Fri mornings) and 210 (The Square to Liffey Valley) as part of the Ballyfermot/North Clondalkin proposals.

A new route 40 is planned to replace the 78/78a linking Finglas to Liffey Valley via the Coldcut Road and Ballyfermot. Route 166 will link Tallaght-Grange Castle-Outer Ring Road-Lucan Willsbrook Road-Liffey Valley.
