As the above article outlines, Paul was instrumental in helping to ensure SDCC purchased the House and grounds, while Helen Farrell has played a key role in identifying and preserving the site's historical and archaeological heritage. As such we are very focused in ensuring the House and grounds are protected to the maximum extent while also facilitating full public access at the earliest opportunity.

QUESTION: Councillor Deputy P. Gogarty

To ask the Chief Executive for the likely commencement date for the Part 8 consultation on Lucan House grounds; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

REPLY:

Following the completion of the Lucan House masterplan, the Council has now entered the next phase of this project, whch will see the appointment of design consultants in January 2026, following which a Part 8 proposal will be prepared, which will include a comprehensive public consultation process. The consultation process will provide an opportunity for informed feedback and will be conducted in accordance with best practice and statutory requirements. It is anticipated that the Part 8 public consultation will commence in Q1 2026.
