This update 28th October 2026

As of October 2026 our office team have decided to put all replies from the NTA and Transport Infrastructure Ireland on my website for easier access by constituents.

Additional bus service request for Loman's Road, Lucan

NTA REPLY: Unfortunately, we have no current plans for a new radial service, to the city centre, to operate via the L1042. This road is currently served by route L51 which provides connections to Liffey Valley. With regards to capacity issues the National Transport Authority (NTA) continuously monitors passenger demand and service performance across the Dublin Bus network.

A review of capacity requirements will be undertaken using Autumn 2026 passenger demand and operational data across the Dublin Bus network. Any future capacity enhancements will be prioritised and implemented on the basis of demonstrated need, taking account of available funding and operational resources, with priority given to those routes and corridors where the greatest capacity pressures are identified. All C-spine routes will be considered as part of that review.
