Adamstown Primary Care Centre - October 2026
REPDR/26/01729
Question
I would be grateful for an update as to the staggered and/or actual opening date of the Primary Care Centre in Adamstown.
Specifically:
When will it be open to the public for GP services and how many GPs will be present?
When will dental services be available?
What will the level of nursing staff be?
How many rooms will be operational and what services will be accessible from each.
Are there any updates in relation to accessible parking adjacent?
Will there be any area for refreshments for service users?
Will the system be appointment based only or will there be a drop-in service?
Answer
Dear Deputy Gogarty,
I refer to the above referenced representation in relation to above mentioned. I have examined the matter and the following outlines the position.
The Health Service Executive can confirm that the Primary Care Centre in Adamstown is operational on a phased basis as services come on stream. Some services have already commenced, with others progressing in line with service readiness, staffing, and commissioning timelines.
In response to your specific queries:
•
The HSE is currently progressing a competition to secure a lease for the provision of GP services at Adamstown. Engagement is ongoing with the HSE estates and legal team to finalise this. It is expected that the practice will include Three full time GPs along with a GP trainee. A confirmed start date is not yet available.
•
There are no dental services operating from Adamstown PCC. These will continue to be provided from Rossecourt Resource Centre and Lucan Health Centre.
•
Public Health Nurses are assigned on a dedicated basis by street address, ensuring appropriate coverage and continuity of care.
•
All rooms within Adamstown PCC are operational and are being used as bookable spaces. Current services include Primary Care Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work, Dietitian services, Public Health Nurse led wound care and child health clinics, Area Medical Officer clinics, Lucan CAMHS team, and outreach clinics from the Coombe Hospital.
•
Parking for the PCC is available in the multi storey car park within the Aldi and Tesco complex, which is sufficient to meet the needs of the centre.
•
There is no dedicated refreshments area within the building at present.
•
Most services are appointment based. Some drop-in clinics are facilitated by individual services as required.
Members of the public are encouraged to contact the centre in advance by phone on 01 921 1400 or by email at lucan.chn@hse.ie for any queries.
