Poor climate performance improves slightly

"Ireland rises nine spots from to 37th in this year’s Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) report, but it remains in the low-performing countries. Ireland receives a medium rating in the Renewable Energy and Energy Use categories, with a low in Climate Policy and a very low in GHG Emissions". We can and must do better. We have the potential to be carbon neutral faster than 2050 and a net exporter of renewable energy, for example. But it needs buy-in from all stakeholders and it needs to protect the most vulnerable in our society concurrently.

These figures show why it's important to look at the per capita figures rather than just brushing off our responsibility to slow global warming by saying that bigger countries cause all the emissions. People in glass houses can't throw stones.
