SDCC Draft Climate Plan

The Council are seeking views from the public to help inform the final Climate Action Plan 2024-2029. A public consultation is being held on the draft Plan (attached below) from 20th September to 3rd November 2023.

The South Dublin County Council Draft Climate Action Plan, the Strategic Environmental Assessment Environmental Report and Appropriate Assessment Natura Impact Report, will be on display and available for public inspection from Wednesday 20th September to Friday 3rd November 2023 on this public consultation portal and at the following locations:

  • At South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24, D24A3XC (Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm)

  • At Clondalkin Civic Office, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 (Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) between the hours of 10.00am and 12.00pm and 2.00pm and 4.00pm)

  • At the following Council Libraries during normal opening hours:


      • County Library, Library Square, Tallaght, Dublin D24A3EX.

      • Ballyroan Library, Orchardstown Avenue, Rathfarnham, Dublin D14 VY33.

      • Clondalkin Library, Monastery Road, Clondalkin, Dublin D22 XPO3.

      • Lucan Shopping Centre, Newcastle Road, Lucan, Dublin K78 V295.

      • North Clondalkin Library, Liscarne Close, Rowlagh, Dublin 22.


Public Information Events


The South Dublin County Council (SDCC) draft Climate Action Plan 2024-2029 is out on public consultation and a series of in-person public information events are planned to give the public an opportunity to speak to the SDCC Climate Teams

  • The Edge Café, Avonmore Road, Tallaght on 4th October 5pm – 9pm

  • Lucan Presbyterian Church, Lucan Village on 11th October 3pm – 7pm

  • Clondalkin Civic Offices on 12th October 3pm – 7pm

  • Mansion House, Dublin city, the four Dublin local authorities will host a joint event, Tuesday 17th October 3 - 8pm

Members of the Climate Team will be manning Climate Information stands at libraries during the consultation period:

  • County Library Tallaght on 9th October 3pm to 5pm

  • Ballyroan Library on 18th October 3pm to 5pm

  • Lucan Library on 25th October 3pm to 5pm

  • Clondalkin Library on 26th October 3pm to 5pm

  • North Clondalkin Library on 30th September 3pm to 5pm

Details on other public consultation events in South Dublin will be advertised on the council website within the news section, on the South Dublin Climate Action Website www.southdublinclimate.ie, and social media.

Submissions

You can make a submission or observation between Wednesday 20th September and Friday 3rd November 2023 inclusive, through the following two options only:

  • A written submission can be made electronically through the Council’s Online Public Consultation Portal: https://consult.sdublincoco.ie/en/consultation/south-dublin-county-council-draft-climate-action-plan-2024-2029 (up to 11.59pm on Friday 3rd November 2023); Or

  • In writing, addressed to the Senior Engineer, Climate Action, Environment, Water and Climate Change Department, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 (not later than 4.00pm on 3rd November 2023).

NOTE: Please make your submission by one medium only i.e. post/online. Email submissions will not be accepted.
